Setting up your BluegrassNet email account on your Android device is easy! (Instructions with images here.)
The following tutorial is provided as a courtesy to our customers to help you configure your Android software to work with your BluegrassNet email service. Depending on the carrier you use for your phone service, you may be restricted to use their outgoing server while connected to their network. BluegrassNet cannot guarantee this will work with every phone/carrier.
Android phones and devices may differ slightly between OS and manufacturer, yet for the most part follow the same core structure. Third-party software cannot be supported directly by BluegrassNet, so if there is an issue with the device you must contact your data or phone service provider, or your device manufacturer. If you encounter any difficulties, or have further questions about your BluegrassNet email service on your Android phone, please email or call 502-589-4638.
1. If this is the first account you are setting up on your Android phone, go into Applications and hit the Email icon. If you have another email already set up, or if the icon on the Home screen, select the Email icon from there. Once in Email, hit the Menu or Options button, then select Add account.
2. At this screen, you will enter your full email address and your password (case sensitive).  After you enter these, click Manual Setup. This will take you to a screen to enter the following information:
Here you will choose POP3 account or IMAP account. If you check your email from more than one device or computer, it is recommended to select IMAP
3. Fill in the required information for the Incoming server settings.
Username: Full Email Address
Password: Your Password (case sensitive)
POP3 or IMAP Server:
Security Type: SSL (accept all certificates)
POP3 Port: 995
IMAP Port: 993
Delete Email From Server: Never
After you have completed this, hit the Next button at the bottom of your screen. Your phone will now attempt to authenticate your incoming server settings. After the incoming server settings have been authenticated, you will enter the outgoing server settings.
4. Fill in the required information for the Outgoing server settings.
SMTP server:
Security type: SSL (Accept all certificates)
Port (for POP and IMAP): 465
Required Sign-in: Checked
Username: Full Email Address
Password: Your Password (case sensitive)
If your outgoing server settings will not authenticate, ensure your username is your full email address and delete and re-enter your password.  If you continue to have problems, please email or call 502-589-4638 to talk to one of our representatives to assist you further.
5. Once the Outgoing server settings authenticates, you will be taken to the Account options page.  From here, you can set the email check frequency, whether or not to set this account as default on your device (if you check more than one email address with your Email app), or to notify you when a new email message arrives.  Once you have those options configured the way you'd like, click Next.
6. On the last page, you can give this account you configured a nickname to help you easily identify it, especially if you have multiple email accounts set up on your device.  You can also set your display name, which is how your name will appear on emails you send.  Once that is filled out, click Done and you are finished with the email setup. Many devices will automatically check your email messages at this point.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please email or call 502-589-4638.
